Integrating traditional and innovative therapeutic approaches to give you freedom of movement
Fred Samorodin, Registered Physical Therapist offers gentle, comprehensive hands-on manual physical therapy and acupuncture. With over 40 years of experience, his extensive knowledge and skillset allows him to treat a wide range of patients while providing specialized care to cater to your specific needs.
Fred specializes in this bodywork therapy which works with the subtle dynamics of the body’s tissues. The therapy is highly effective in treating a wide range of conditions from headaches to ear infections, back pain, malalignment, and jaw pain.
Gentle manual manipulation unwinds joints to help them gain the flexibility that feels good. Fred limits the use of high velocity “cracking” in his physiotherapy treatments.
Fred is certified to offer acupuncture/dry needling treatments and can combine the use of pulsing electrical current (TENS) to relax conditions such as chronic spasms.
On top of teaching you at-home exercises and techniques, Fred uses kinesiology tape with certain patients to help reinforce your recovery and sustain the benefits of treatment. Kinesio tape can help support painful joints temporarily on the days following a physiotherapy session. Fred can also help you order other joint wraps or tape supplies from Nikken, Inc. to benefit from this type of therapy at home.
Jaw (TMJ & TMD) Treatment
Fred works in conjunction with dentists to help patients manage chronic jaw pain problems (using craniomandibular osteopathic techniques). Working inside the mouth to help balance the bite, as well as improving jaw alignment through overall posture adjustments from neck down to feet. Several physiotherapy visits to experience the benefits of his techniques may in some cases save lengthy dental procedures.
Fred utilizes a recent innovation in cupping therapy, Fascia BuddyTM silicone cups, as a compliment to his other treatment methods. He also sells this and other supportive health products for use at home. Providing instruction and advising patients on how to incorporate these tools for promoting wellbeing outside of physiotherapy visits.
