As mentioned, I ride my bike freehand sometimes in order to relax and stretch my back muscles, and after the two sessions with you and ideas from the Mastermoves program, I’m pleased to report that I’m pretty much back in shape again.
What I’ve done, with your inspiration, is to develop a new exercise on my bike. When I’m riding freehand (on a level surface with good balance, no cross winds, no bears!), I swing my arms slowly together from one side to the other, copying the MastermovesMastermoves Prevent Back Pain Video technique to some extent. So far I’m finding that this additional arm movement does give me extra exercise for my back and stomach muscles. After doing this for 5-10 minutes at a time it leaves me a bit out of breath, as though I had been riding up a hill. So, success!
